It was truly a remarkable experience attending the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP) Conference, held from 24th to 27th April 2025 in the beautiful city of Jos—one of Nigeria’s most historic cities, known for its rich cultural heritage and unique charm.
The conference, themed “Uncommon Challenges in a Rapidly Changing Legal Environment,” provided a thought-provoking platform that expanded perspectives on emerging areas of legal practice, evolving ethical standards, and the growing importance of technology in modern legal service delivery. The sessions emphasized the need for legal practitioners to continuously adapt, innovate, and embrace digital tools in order to remain relevant in an ever-changing professional landscape.
Beyond the intellectual engagements, the experience in Jos was equally memorable for its warmth and cultural richness. The hospitality, the vibrant atmosphere, and the opportunity to enjoy the city’s exquisite local delicacies and nightlife left a lasting impression on delegates, making the conference both professionally enriching and personally fulfilling.
Special appreciation goes to the leadership of the NBA Section on Legal Practice, and particularly to the Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, for organizing an exceptional event that seamlessly blended high-level intellectual discourse with a truly enjoyable experience worthy of its acclaim.
It was also inspiring to see the strong participation of young lawyers, whose presence reflected a commendable commitment to professional growth and active engagement within the Bar. The interactions, networking, and exchange of ideas among young practitioners further reinforced the strength and future of the profession. Congratulations are also due to the participants of the Young Litigators Debate, whose performances added an exciting and intellectually stimulating dimension to the conference.
Indeed, the experience in Jos is one that will not be forgotten—a perfect blend of learning, culture, and connection.
